Chickens
Chickens are one of the most abused animals in our society, and the Retreat is home to over a hundred mostly ex-battery hens. One group lives on a grassy field at the end.
Adrian
Adrian, a beautiful timid cockerel, was delivered hanging by his feet in the first week in August 2005. The boys who handed him over said the Retreat could have him as he wouldn't fight. Adrian spent his first few days with us nervous and flinching. He has now ventured out and is fully integrated with the other cockerels.
Clarence & Clifford
Clarence and Clifford are known by many for their kung-fu kicks to the shins.
